Light, an instrument for healing in its physical beauty and spiritual energy that is all around us. To be a hunter, is chasing faith for connection and reverence, under a spiritually guided meditation for the image captured through nature.

The name "Light Hunter" was given with honor to Fatali by the Navajos back in the early 80's when he first explored and helped discover slot canyons bordering Northern Arizona-Southern Utah. These sacred canyons, like the now famous Antelope Canyon, Navajo Nation Tribal Park, became his cathedrals of stone as a sanctuary for solace during his spiritual healing as a teenager. This slot canyon, before it's popularity, was only accessed by those who rappelled by ropes and who dared entering the unknown deep sandstone abyss. This was the beginning of his intimate relationship with the canyons, its people and the Light.

We are so pleased that our gallery, LIGHT HUNTER STUDIO, was included as part of making history at the debut of Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week, showcasing alongside over 100 of the finest galleries from all over the globe. Thank you to the organizers and the visionaries who made this a reality! And most importantly, we THANK all of you who showed your support by sharing this experience with us. Overall, it was a huge success, and it meant a great deal to both of us.

We are looking forward to making more fun memories together, either at our private studio located in the Scottsdale/Carefree/Cave Creek area or out with us in the canyons for an adventure somewhere in the Desert Southwest!

SPIRIT ON THE RISE

November 6, 2023|MY LIGHT STORY

The scene in which you see me here is not one of those everyday typical landscapes. This was a very surreal geothermal formation hiding within the Black Rock Desert of Nevada and on private land. When I first got permission from the owner's rancher it was first in the 90’s. I took a few days to study the light at this location, that included dawn to dusk. At sunrise I got a glimpse of the sun peeking through the mist making for an incredible and surreal moment. The angle of which I I was able to capture in my cameras composition of the geysers, including the sun and moon, were achievable by using a ladder and a very tall tripod to support me and my 8x10 inch large format camera. This image I made was in the year 2000 and is called “Earth Spirit Rising”. It remains today as one of my personal favorites and one of the most sought after photographs from my gallery collection.
